About the Graduate School
The Graduate School is backed by a large group of bioinformaticians from all the major universities in Sweden. The school is run by:
- Arne Elofsson, Director (Stockholm University) — board meetings, student travel invoices, fall meetings.
- Samuel Flores, Dean of Students (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences) — admissions, final report, spring meetings.
MedBioInfo was established to provide advanced national training in medical bioinformatics for PhD students. The school combines coursework, mentoring, and annual meetings to give students access to expertise beyond their home university.
What the programme offers
- a national peer group of PhD students working in bioinformatics and computational life science
- short advanced courses, typically 3–5 HP, delivered in sequence across the programme
- annual meetings with faculty talks, research presentations, workshops and networking
- a faculty mentor providing additional perspective beyond the local supervisor
Meeting archive
The current site has long featured annual meeting photographs as a core part of its identity. This rebuild keeps that emphasis and can be extended with more archived galleries as needed.
